Upper Desk’s Portable Cabinet Mount Selected as Innovation Award Finalist
CHICAGO—Upper Desk’s Portable Cabinet Mount has been selected as a finalist for the Home Organization + Storage category in the 3rd International Housewares Association (IHA) Innovation Awards.
Hundreds of new products were judged by a panel of industry experts and news media as part of 2014 International Home + Housewares Show® (IH&HS). The IH&HS show will feature more than 21,000 exhibitors from 125 countries and more than 60,000 total attendees.
Upper Desk’s Portable Cabinet Mount Model 117, for tablets and smart devices 4-14 inches, is designed for home, office, dorm, garage, and industrial settings and can be used almost anywhere a cabinet or shelf is present.
Using the Easy Latch System— a unique mounting design that requires no tools or permanent hardware—Model 117 can be installed or removed in seconds. Tablets can be used in portrait or landscape orientation. For optimal viewing, the mount boast a 180 degree rotating arm which offers three case compatible angled settings that help reduce glare.

UPPER DESK’S PORTABLE CABINET MOUNT BRINGS HOME THE GOLD
LAS VEGAS— Upper Desk’s Portable Cabinet Mount for Tablets and Smart Devices won the 2014 Best of Class Gold Award during the Homewares Show® Innovation Awards at the National Hardware Show, Las Vegas Convention Center, May 8.
Judged by industry professionals, approximately 50 innovative product entries were critiqued on aesthetics, uniqueness, consumer need, overall value and merchandising support. Products were displayed in Central Hall Lobby at the National Hardware Show May 6-8.
Accepting the Gold Award on behalf of the Upper Desk, Inc. team, the product inventor—Roderick Phillips and his daughter, Stephanie Phillips-Taggart, Upper Desk, Inc., President, received the award at the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) stage.

Upper Desk’s Portable Cabinet Mount for Smart Devices is designed to hold all size iPad or tablets. Using Easy Latch System—a simple clamping mechanism—the mount can be installed or removed in seconds without tools.
Adjustable for portrait or landscape tablet use, the product suspends a smart device just below the cabinet which allows access to the cabinet contents, while saving valuable countertop space below. It also offers three case compatible settings and a 180 degree rotating arm for optimal viewing.
